Wageningen University & Research (WUR) offers several prestigious scholarship programmes for academically outstanding international students pursuing full-time master’s degrees in the Netherlands. These opportunities, including the Africa Scholarship Programme, the Excellence Programme, and the Anne van den Ban Fund, are designed to support students who show potential to contribute to their home countries' development. Can Pakistani Students Apply?

Eligibility for Pakistani students depends on the specific programme. The Excellence Programme is open to international students from outside the EEA and Switzerland, meaning Pakistani applicants are eligible if they meet the academic and admission requirements. The Anne van den Ban Fund supports students from low-income developing countries, for which Pakistan is generally considered eligible. However, the Africa Scholarship Programme is restricted exclusively to citizens of African countries and is therefore not open to Pakistani applicants. Funding and Benefits

• Africa Scholarship Programme: A fully funded award covering tuition fees, living expenses for 24 months, international travel, visa costs, and health insurance.
• Excellence Programme: A tuition-fee waiver for the 24-month master’s programme. It does not cover living, travel, or insurance costs.
• Anne van den Ban Fund: Provides either full or partial financial support based on the student's financial circumstances and available resources.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must first gain unconditional admission to an eligible WUR master’s programme. General requirements include:

• A First Class honours bachelor’s degree (or equivalent).
• A minimum GPA of 80%.
• English language proficiency (IELTS Academic 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90, with specific sub-score requirements).
• Being a new student beginning in September 2027.

Selection Process

Wageningen University uses an automatic, invitation-based assessment. Once you have received unconditional admission, the university’s selection committee reviews all eligible candidates. If selected, you will receive an invitation via email to participate in the next stage of the scholarship selection.
