The NIAS Safe Haven Fellowship is a fully funded program offered by the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities and Social Sciences (NIAS) in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This fellowship provides a safe and supportive environment for scholars, artists, writers, and journalists who are unable to continue their work in their home countries due to war, conflict, or threats to their freedom. The fellowship covers return airfare, accommodation, a stipend, and provides a private office space and access to library and other facilities. Fellows are expected to be physically present 4 days a week and can pursue research or creative projects within the humanities and social sciences. The fellowship duration is 5 months, either from September to January or February to June.
